If you ever needed an excuse to get out your baking equipment and whip your PVC tablecloths firmly into place, then this is it – the Comic Relief Bake Off will be back on our TV screens this month and we simply cannot wait!
We’ve really missed the exploits of all those star bakers (bingate, anyone?) and are now waiting on tenterhooks for the 11th when the show begins. It’ll be on television for four weeks, with one episode a week, so make sure you note them all down in your diary so you don’t miss a single one.
As of yet, we’ve not quite decided who we’re going to be rooting for but the lineup this year certainly looks as though the show is going to be seriously game for a laugh. (Well, it is Comic Relief after all!)
The likes of Joanna Lumley, Jennifer Saunders, Victoria Wood, David Mitchell, Dame Edna Everage, Alexa Chung, Jonathan Ross, Michael Sheen, Lulu, Gok Wan, Chris Moyles, Jameela Jamil, Gordon Brown’s wife Sarah and YouTube star Zoella will all be putting their cookery skills to the test in a bid to be crowned star baker.
“It was great fun working with all of the celebrity bakers. They gave it their all and although there were some baking catastrophes, some surprising hidden skills were revealed,” Mary Berry said. “One thing for certain is that anyone can have a go at baking and it’s a great way to raise money for Comic Relief – and you are guaranteed to have a lot of fun!”
We can’t wait! Roll on the 11th!
