Ultra-violet is the colour of 2018 according to the Pantone Colour Institute, and it’s super-easy to bring your kitchen up-to-date with one of our choice of purple wipe clean tablecloths.
Our Hydrangea oilcloth tablecloth is particularly beautiful, with a dense display of flowers and foliage in beautiful tones of purple, blue and pink. Floral tablecloths generally suit any style of home and such a strong pattern can ‘lift’ the atmosphere of your room in an instant.
Another purple-toned design you might like to consider is the Macapa oilcloth tablecloth. This is a striking geometrical design featuring watercolour-like shades of blue, purple and lime upon a neutral background. Again, this is a great way to bring a dash of colour into your kitchen.
For a stronger colour statement then our Polka Dot Purple wipe clean tablecloth may be the best choice for you. Lots of customers have sent photos of this tablecloth for use on our Facebook feed, and we have to say this rich, deep aubergine-purple tablecloth is one of our favourites.
What is Pantone Colour of the Year?
Pantone Colour of the Year is nominated by the Pantone Colour Institute, a consulting service that forecasts global colour trends.
What’s special about ultra-violet?
The organisation describes this year’s ultra-violet colour as ‘a dramatically provocative and thoughtful purple shade (that) communicates originality, ingenuity and visionary thinking that points us toward the future.’
Ultra-violet suggests the mysteries of the cosmos and is symbolic of counterculture and unconventionality. Historically, a mystical or spiritual quality has been associated with this colour too, and it’s associated with mindfulness practice which is enjoying much popularity at present.
