In these tumultuous times, it’s easy to be all-consumed by the negatives and forget to look at the positives. These tricky times bring people together, and for those of us fortunate enough to be at home with our family, we’ll be spending a lot more time around our kitchen table. Whether it’s for home-schooling or big kids retreating from the big bad world, the kitchen table will no doubt be a support for heavy hearts, but also broadening minds. This is an opportunity to get to know one another better, to relax, to get creative, to learn, to laugh and to let go – and all of this often requires you to get a bit messy.
Here are just a few suggestions of things to do around the kitchen table with the family:
Create art and get Noel Fielding to judge it, by tagging #artclub on twitter or on Instagram.
Have a sunflower growing competition.
Do an online pub quiz using https://www.goosesquizzes.com/.
Have a video call dinner party with friends or family.
Learn to make a sourdough loaf.
Most of all, look after yourselves and your family, grasp onto any glimmer of hope with both hands, share what you can, and remember this won’t last forever.
