With so much to think about this Christmas, we’ve got some styling ideas that will make it easier for you for the festive period.
Start by choosing a colour theme for your table. Why not look through our range of Christmas themed wipeable tablecloths for inspiration? There are star designs for a more sophisticated theme, bright reds and greens for the more traditional look and several Scandi styles if you’re looking for a contemporary feel.
Once you have chosen a cloth, start thinking about accessories. A runner down the centre of the table will give you the base for your table centrepiece which needs to be low enough so guests can see each other across the table. Depending on the shape of your table, a Christmas wreath with sturdy pillar candles looks great on a square or circular table. Or you might want to have a runner of festive foliage and winter berries arranged down the centre of a rectangular table and made to sparkle with string of battery-operated fairy lights.
Continue with the idea of layering for the place settings by using place mats or charger plates and build up, finishing with the smallest plate. You can add a little decorative detail to the plates with a few baubles or a little posy of foliage to match the table centre.
When thinking about glasses, if you want to add a pop of colour, look for glassware that picks out one of the colours in your tablecloth. Research online different ways to fold your napkins or check out our folded napkin idea for your cutlery. Do as much preparation in advance and you will really enjoy laying up your table on Christmas Day.
