HOW TO MEASURE FOR A TABLECLOTH

All of our oilcloth and PVC tablecloths are made to measure which is one of the reasons they look so stylish.  The right fit means your tablecloth will be neat and tidy with the right amount of overhang around your table.

Don’t make the mistake of measuring your table and ordering a tablecloth of the exact size – you need to add at least 40 cm for each length and width to enable the tablecloth to drape over the edges.

When it comes to measuring a round table for a tablecloth, you simply measure the diameter (the width from one side to the other, passing through the centre).  Then add 80cm to allow for an overhang of 40cm all the way around.  Of course, you can always order a tablecloth with a larger overhang if you prefer.

To help you measure your table accurately we’ve produced this handy YouTube video, and there are detailed instructions on measuring square and rectangular tables over on our how to measure your table pages.

Many of our designs are suitable for extra-large tables – see our collection of wider width tablecloths.  If the tablecloth you like isn’t available in a wider width don’t forget that we can add a centre seam to make a well fitting tablecloth which is perfect for your home.

Optional extras

Once you’ve determined the required size, you can opt to have a parasol hole cut into your tablecloth if you are going to be using it when you dine outdoors.  We can also add a Velcro seam to enable you to add or remove your tablecloth with ease.

We can also hem your tablecloth with bias binding for a neat finish, though your tablecloth will not fray so you need only choose this option if you prefer the look of a hem.
